Adele has shared her thoughts on a viral breakdancing routine from the Paris Olympics, questioning whether it was “a joke”. The singer brought up the topic during one of her residency shows in Munich, where she asked her audience if they had seen the Australian contestant’s routine, which ended up scoring 0 points. Scores of viewers were left wondering if it was some kind of gag, due to its bizarre nature.

Adele stated that she “can’t work out if it was a joke but either way it has made me very very happy and me and my friends have been shitting ourselves laughing for nearly 24 hours.” She announced the moment her “favourite thing that has happened in the Olympics this whole whole time”. The Australian contestant in question was Raygun, real name Rachael Gunn, who has been given credit for her confidence to perform such a routine.

The Munich residency shows have seen Adele stop proceedings to stream Olympic events. On August 3, Adele showed the semi-final and final of the women’s 100m Olympic races during one of her shows in Munich. The shows have also seen Adele perform ‘Chasing Pavements’ for the first time in seven years and announce that she is now engaged to Rich Paul.

Despite her successful residency shows, Adele is planning to take a break after her last performances. She revealed in an interview with German outlet ZDF that she does not have any plans for new music and that she wants to take a “big break” from music after her residency shows to “do other creative things”
