Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reveal they have recorded new music for ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel: “Pink Slip is back”

At Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim on Friday, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis announced a follow-up to the 2003 Disney remake, ‘Freaky Friday,’ and teased a new title, ‘Freakier Friday.’ In the original film, Lohan’s character played a song with her band Pink Slip in a battle of the bands, which was filmed at the House of Blues in Hollywood. Director Quentin Tarantino is known to be a fan of the movie because of this performance.

During the event, Curtis confirmed that Pink Slip would be in the ‘Freakier Friday’ sequel stating, “Pink Slip is back, let’s put it that way.” Lohan added that fans can expect to see more of the band in the movie. The duo also revealed that the film will have a new song that they think will tug at the heartstrings and be the “song of the summer next summer.”

Filming for the movie has already begun, and Lohan hinted that some familiar things will be brought back while expressing how heartwarming it was to see the reaction that people had to Pink Slip. Fans will have to wait until next year for the movie to be released.

Although both actresses have had personal and career ups and downs since the original ‘Freaky Friday’ was released 18 years ago, they remain fan favorites for their roles in the film. The news of the sequel and Pink Slip’s return has left fans excited and eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Freakier Friday.
