In Surrey, a male was shot by armed police in the early hours of this morning following reports of an altercation between two individuals, with one suspected of being armed with a weapon. The police were called to Nursery Road with the male in his 20s subsequently shot by the police at the scene. The individual was transported to a hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition. The man’s family has been notified.
Surrey police have launched an investigation into the incident. It has been reported that both parties were known to each other and that the wider public was not in danger. It has also been confirmed that a weapon was recovered from the scene. The police have requested that anyone with appropriate CCTV footage or who may be a witness to the incident should contact the authorities.
