Kevin Sorbo, former star of TV series “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” has been criticized by his former co-star Lucy Lawless for controversial tweets about ongoing riots in the UK and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. While Lawless and Sorbo have long clashed over their opposing political views, Lawless shared a scathing anecdote from the period the pair worked together. According to Lawless’ tweet, Sorbo had defended a black man against white people during the NZ summer in February 1995.
Lawless also shared an exchange with Sorbo that occurred when the cast was sitting around discussing a news item. Lawless mentioned a brutal murder in LA and suggested the possibility of a footballer being responsible. Sorbo responded by growling that he knew the victim and that she was “no picnic.” Lawless said, “She didn’t deserve to be stabbed to death.” Sorbo replied, “I’m just saying, She was a piece of work.” According to Lawless, these “Americanisms” were unusual to the group, but they knew what he meant.

He also posted a false image that suggested a Muslim man had avoided jail time for rape, while three white men were sentenced to jail for selling anti-immigration stickers and making racist comments on Facebook. Despite this, this is not the first time Lawless and Sorbo have clashed over political views. The two have been arguing on Twitter since 2021.
In January 2021, Lawless criticized Sorbo for “enabling” the Capitol rioters after he shared a conspiracy theory that suggested those involved in storming the Capitol were actually left-wing Antifa supporters. Lawless responded by calling the rioters “homegrown terrorists” and “QAnon actors” who were doing the “evil bidding” of people like Sorbo. In 2023, Lawless called Sorbo out for transphobia
