Dave Navarro on new Jane’s Addiction album: “That’s more than likely going to happen”

Dave Navarro, the guitarist for Jane’s Addiction, has revealed in an interview that a new album from the original band lineup is likely. Jane’s Addiction released their first single together in 34 years last month, and fans have been eagerly anticipating a full-length album, which Navarro says is being worked on. The band’s classic lineup, which includes Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery, last released a studio album together in 1990. The quartet first performed live together in 14 years at Bush Hall in London earlier this year, where they debuted “Imminent Redemption,” and has since completed a UK and European tour. Jane’s Addiction recently began a North American tour, which will run through late August.

The band has recorded new music, and Navarro says that while there are always creative hurdles, overcoming them to reach a solution is where the excitement happens. “There’s always hurdles in collaborative creative efforts, but overcoming those hurdles is where the solution happens, and the solution, should it reveal itself, can be pretty exciting,” Navarro said.

In other news, Navarro shared that he struggled to play the guitar after the death of his close friend Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for Foo Fighters. Navarro formed the band NHC with Hawkins and Chris Chaney before Hawkins’ death in 2022. Hawkins was an inspiring artist and a talented songwriter, according to Navarro, who said he did not pick up the guitar for about a year after Hawkins’ passing
