Third teenager arrested over Taylor Swift show terror plot in Vienna

Vienna was hit with a foiled terror attack planned for Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ shows after two people were arrested. Yesterday it was announced that a third teenager had also been arrested in connection to the now-foiled attack. Following the news, all three of the pop star’s gigs in Vienna were cancelled by event organizer Barracuda Music. When asked about any risk that may be posed for Swift’s upcoming shows in London, UK Home Office minister Dame Diana Johnson stated that police are now looking into the threat posed by the possible terror attack involving the Vienna gig.

The main suspect was a teenager who fully confessed to the planned attack, and was aiming to use knives or self-made explosives outside the Ernst Happel Stadium to kill as many people as possible. A search of his house reportedly led to chemicals, explosives, knives and machete knives being found. The suspect had also pledged an oath of allegiance to the Islamic State group and had been working closely with a 17-year-old Australian. In response, Scotland Yard stated that they were considering Swift’s upcoming London shows and they have yet to make a decision.

According to authorities, the Vienna shows were expected to bring in roughly 65,000 concertgoers per day, with an additional 10,000 to 15,000 fans outside of the area. Swift’s London shows are set to feature support from Raye, Holly Humberstone, Suki Waterhouse and Paramore.

Swift has yet to comment on the situation. This is a developing story
