A fourth piece of artwork by Banksy has been stolen from its location in Peckham. The piece depicted a silhouette of a wolf howling at the moon, located on top of a store front next to the UCKG Help Centre. Banksy recently confirmed credits for a number of pieces, including the one in Peckham, showcasing his artistic genius. Hooded men in facemasks and gloves were recorded carrying away the work, having climbed up the building and removing the satellite dish it was painted on.
Banksy has taken credit for a number of murals in recent days. The first depicted a goat perched on a ledge, while the second featured two elephants poking their heads out of blocked-out windows in Chelsea. The third pointing out three swinging monkeys on the bridge of an East London tube station. All were shared by the artist on Instagram. The new art pieces have been a much-needed dose of artistic marvel for his followers.
Furthermore, the Bristol-based street artist unveiled an art piece at Glastonbury 2024 in the form of an immigrant boat during IDLES’ performance. The dummy boat was launched into the crowd on the Other Stage during their track ‘Danny Nedelko’. Banksy’s motive was to bring attention to the current migrant crisis, which has become the focal point of then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s immigration policy. However, the stunt was criticised by then-Home Secretary James Cleverly, who called it “vile”.
Banksy has remained as enigmatic as ever, continuing to rise above the rubble as one of the world’s finest street artists. His thought-provoking pieces often prompt discussions about social issues, and he is celebrated for bringing significant issues to light through his thought-provoking art forms
