Singer Clairo has released a Spotify Singles cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Brooklyn Baby”. Del Rey’s song was released on her 2014 album “Ultraviolence” and satirizes the hipster subculture of Brooklyn. Clairo’s version is slower but showcases her voice, which is a stripped-back version compared to her most recent album “Charm”. Clairo – real name Claire Cottrill – is going on a 10-show tour next year in the UK and Europe, starting at the Olympia in Dublin, Ireland, on March 3 and 4.
After her shows in Dublin, she will travel to various cities in France, the Netherlands, and the UK, where she will perform in London, Glasgow, and Manchester. New York singer-songwriter June McDoom will accompany her as support for various performances. Ticket sales will begin on August 9 at 10 am local time, but pre-sale options have already begun since August 7. Clairo’s North American tour will begin on September 27 and finish on November 7 in Atlanta, Georgia.
These tours are to promote the release of Clairo’s album “Charm” which was released on July 12. In a four-star review, NME said: “While desire might be the main focus of ‘Charm’, it’s also an ode to connection and the comfort that comes with that – whether it’s fleeting or long-lasting, with a romantic partner or just other loved ones in your life.” Clairo also recently shared her first new music video in six years on August 4 for the song “Juna”. Del Rey is preparing to release her first country album, “Lasso”, in September and recently collaborated with Quavo to release a song called “Tough”.
