Chicago house music producer Daniel Brookman, known by his stage name DANNN, has passed away. Resident Advisor received confirmation of Brookman’s death from his family, but the cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. The label Trax Couture, which collaborated with Brookman on numerous occasions, released a statement mourning his loss. Similarly, Zetina paid tribute on Twitter, calling him a “production genius” and urged people to listen to his discography.

Steve N. Hoffman, a former resident of Chicago who worked with Resident Advisor and Night Logistics, fondly remembered the times he spent “cutting teeth with Daniel Brookman” in the city’s DIY club scene. Brookman’s album ‘The Slightest Dreadful Electricity’ can be streamed on Bandcamp.
