A woman has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of an Army veteran. Winter Swan-Miller stabbed 62-year-old Stuart Crocker 27 times before killing him with the strap of her handbag at his flat in Andover in June 2023. Swan-Miller had been staying with the victim prior to the murder.
Sentencing Swan-Miller at Winchester Crown Court, Judge Angela Morris stated that she saw Swan-Miller as a highly manipulative person who was “prepared to do or say anything to get what she wanted”. She will serve a minimum of 23 years for his murder.
Swan-Miller posted a video on social media platform TikTok after the murder, in which she joked she had been a “bad girl”. She urged people to write to her in prison and wrote numerous notes about the killing. Police found additional unpublished videos where she claimed Mr Crocker was complicit in her dog being stolen.
Detective Superintendent Rod Kenny described the crime as “the most violent of ways”. He noted that Swan-Miller spent hours cleaning the scene, posting on social media, and continued with her daily business before fleeing the county.
