The non-profit organization Choose Love has gained support from South Sudanese rapper and activist Emmanuel Jal and Canadian artist STORRY. The duo has released a new single titled “Choose Love,” which aims to spread positivity and love in the face of violence and hatred. Jal, who was once a victim of forced displacement and a child soldier in South Sudan, has firsthand experience of the vital work that charities such as Choose Love do. He now hopes to give back to those in need and encourages others to do the same. He said that he wants the song to “launch a campaign for people around the world to become soldiers of Love.”

STORRY, who has shared her story of perseverance and determination as a survivor of sex trafficking in her second album ‘Chapter 2: Run,’ also believes in spreading a message of hope and empowerment. The Juno-nominated singer’s uplifting and diverse music spans genres including hip hop, R&B, reggae, funk, and pop. She aims to remind listeners that “darkness is inescapable, but it’s only temporary, and the sun always rises.”

Choose Love has expressed gratitude to Jal for his continued cooperation, and its Director of Partnerships and a founding member, Philli Boyle, called both STORRY and Jal “phenomenally gifted musicians and also immensely passionate humanitarians and activists.” The organization has transformed lives daily through educational programs and vocational training to people affected by war and displacement in East Africa, particularly in Kenya, and the group aims to continue these efforts with the “Choose Love” single
