Victoria Beckham has reiterated her assertion that she had a working-class upbringing. She first made the claim in the Netflix documentary Beckham, where she described her background as “very working class”, a statement which prompted her husband David to interrupt and tell her to “be honest”. After some back and forth, Victoria eventually revealed that in the 80s, her dad had a Rolls-Royce. In a new interview with Vogue Australia, the former Spice Girl addressed the video, stating “you know, my dad had a Rolls-Royce and he also had a white van”.

“We went to a regular school, and we didn’t live in a big house, and the minute he made money he went and bought himself a Rolls-Royce”, Victoria continued. The couple also recreated the clip for an Uber Eats advert that aired during the Super Bowl. David Beckham later revealed that the director of the show Fisher Stevens was angry at the time about the moment but ultimately accepted that it “turned out to be brilliant”.

There has been speculation recently about a possible Spice Girls reunion, with Mel B fuelling the rumours in March by hinting that the group would “definitely [be] doing something” for their 30th anniversary, but fans are still eagerly awaiting confirmation. The group first split in 2000 and have since reunited in 2007, 2012, and 2018, with Victoria notably absent for the last two shows
