Actor Zac Efron was rushed to the hospital after a “minor swimming incident” in Spain. On Friday night (August 2), he was pulled out of a pool in Ibiza by two workers who found him in distress. He was then taken to the hospital, but the reason for his distress remains unknown. However, it is confirmed that he was released the following morning and is “fine” now, according to his representative.
Efron appeared on stage with Martin Garrix at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club in the Spanish city earlier this week. During the performance, the actor danced alongside the DJ to the cheers of the crowd. His most recent role was in Netflix’s new romantic-comedy, A Family Affair, where he reunited with Nicole Kidman 12 years after they first appeared on screen together in The Paperboy.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Efron shared the differences between the two films. He said the previous film was very gritty and raw, while in A Family Affair, he got to connect with Kidman and fall in love with less stress. Efron and Kidman revealed that the movie was initially titled Motherfucker, which captured Efron’s interest immediately. He further added that it’s like “what on Earth could this be about?” They both liked the script and found it the perfect way to reconnect with each other.
Though Efron’s swimming accident doesn’t seem to have caused any significant harm, his fans are relieved to know that he is safe and back on his feet
