At the Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Theater in Los Angeles on August 2nd, Sabrina Carpenter and Jack Antonoff took the stage together to perform a new track called ‘Slim Pickins’ from Carpenter’s upcoming album, ‘Short n’ Sweet’. Carpenter surprised her fans by performing the unreleased track during a moderated discussion and performance that evening. Fan-shot footage from the show captured the singer introducing her new song to the audience by saying, “This one’s cute and I just like, wanted to sing it for you today. Super random of me, so, it’s called ‘Slim Pickins’ and I hope you like it.”
Carpenter and Antonoff also performed ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Espresso’ from Carpenter’s forthcoming album. In June, the singer announced that she would be releasing her sixth studio album later this month along with a tour to support it. The ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour, which is named after the album, will kick off at the end of September and will include performances in North America and Europe. The dates for the North American leg of the tour were revealed, which includes shows in Columbus, Toronto, New York City, Boston, and Atlanta, among others.
Carpenter has been extremely busy in recent months, promoting her upcoming album and tour while also filming for her latest film, ‘Emergency’. She also added shows in the UK and Europe to her tour lineup, which begins next year. Carpenter announced on Twitter that she is excited to bring the ‘Short n’ Sweet Tour’ to Europe and the UK, and that Rachel Chinouriri will be joining her as the support act on the new run of dates.
