Canadian rapper Drake thrilled fans during his surprise appearance at a PartyNextDoor concert in his hometown of Toronto. The Grammy-winning artist revealed that he and PartyNextDoor were working on an album together, which is expected to drop when the weather gets slightly chilly later this year. During the hour-long performance, Drake expressed his gratitude to his fans, thanking them for their “years of unwavering support.”
Drake started his show with a live rendition of his 2015 remix of Ramriddlz’s ‘Sweeterman’ and the debut of ‘Wah Gwan Delilah’. The rapper, who is known for his ongoing feud with fellow Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar, also played some of his popular tracks including ‘Redemption’ and ‘Practice’. The two artists ended the show with their collaboration from 2016, ‘Come and See Me’.
In June, Drake teamed up with rapper Snowd4y for the remix and cover of Plain White Ts’ ‘Hey There Delilah’. The remix, which features Drake’s vocals, caught the attention of the band who initially thought it was an AI-generated track. Meanwhile, Drake also appeared on two songs from producer Gordo’s recent album ‘Diamante’.
Drake’s tribute took place at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, featuring PartyNextDoor, a Canadian rapper and R&B singer. Both the artists have previously collaborated on tracks like ‘Come and See Me’ and ‘Recognize’. Fans are eagerly awaiting their joint album, which is expected to be released in late 2024
