Adele prepares to kick off “bloody exciting” Munich residency – here’s everything you need to know

After a long hiatus from touring in Europe, Adele is set to perform at a 75,000-capacity open-air pop-up venue called the Munich Messe Arena. The residency will feature ten shows, with performances commencing on August 2 and ending with a final show on August 31. Adele announced the Munich residency on her social media accounts a few months ago, stating that the venue had been uniquely created to accommodate the show’s bespoke design.

This residency is also Adele’s first appearance in mainland Europe since 2016. Following the announcement of the residency, the singer’s manager Jonathan Dickins told reporters in Munich to expect a different setlist from those she performed during her Las Vegas residency. He added that the aim is to create a “cosy” show that’s the “total opposite” of Vegas. Although Adele’s signature hits will be performed, the primary goal is to make the experience intimate and distinct for her fans.

Tickets for the residency are available on Ticketmaster, with a range of prices varying from €229.90 to €399.90. However, Adele announced that fans would be able to purchase ‘lucky dip’ tickets for only €35, and the location of the seats won’t be revealed until the day of the performance. Additionally, Adele World, a festival site area where fans can enjoy a beer, will be located on the site of the venue.

After the residency in Munich, Adele plans to take a break from the industry as she has no intention of creating new music anytime soon. She confirmed this during a recent interview with German outlet ZDF. While she did confirm that there would be a world tour for her next album cycle, it’s unclear when the follow-up to her most recent album ’30’ will be released. For the time being, fans can revel in Adele’s first appearance in Munich since 2016
