‘St Elmo’s Fire’ sequel in “early stages”, says star Rob Lowe

Actor Rob Lowe has revealed that he is in the early stages of creating a sequel to his classic 80s movie, St. Elmo’s Fire. The original movie was released in 1985 and helped to herald in the Brat Pack movement. It was directed by Joel Schumacher and starred not only Lowe but also Andie MacDowell, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez, Demi Moore, and Andrew McCarthy.

Lowe has been talking about a sequel for around four months and the recent success of the documentary ‘Brats’ has only added to his excitement around the idea. However, he also cautioned that it is still very early days.

St. Elmo’s Fire is a coming of age movie that revolves around a group of friends who are all graduates of Georgetown University in Washington D.C.. The movie received largely negative reviews at the time of its release but over the years it has become a cult classic.

In other news, Lowe recently revealed that he accidentally sent a congratulatory text message to the wrong actor following the Golden Globe awards! He sent a message to Bradley Cooper that he intended for Robert Downey Jr. Lowe praised Downey for his acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards and accidentally sent it to Cooper
