At Glastonbury festival last month, Irish rap group Kneecap had the pleasure of meeting former Oasis member Noel Gallagher, after he witnessed one of their performances. Kneecap was also part of this year’s lineup, and both of their performances went well.
Kneecap also discussed the imminent release of their self-titled movie, which sees them play themselves alongside Michael Fassbender, who is cast as Bap’s exiled IRA member father. Rich Peppiatt directed the film, which won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Kneecap’s recent NME cover feature described the movie as a collision of 8 Mile and Trainspotting, with a touch of Steve McQueen’s Hunger
