Detective Brian Prickett led the investigation into the murder of Carol Morgan more than 40 years ago. Her husband, Allen Morgan, was always a prime suspect for the homicide, but there was never enough evidence to prove his involvement. Carol Morgan’s murder was “the worst attack I’ve seen on a human being, definitely,” recalled the retired officer. Morgan, 73, was recently convicted of conspiring to murder his wife after a cold-case team discovered a crucial new witness, Jane Bunting. She provided critical testimony that helped convict Morgan.

Upon finding Carol Morgan’s body, Brian Prickett knew it was a deliberate murder. Morgan’s behaviour after the murder, added to the circumstantial evidence against him, pegged him as an arrogant womaniser and became a person of interest. While it’s been over 40 years since Carol Morgan’s murder, the police hope that Allen Morgan will provide details helping to identify the actual murderer. Brian Prickett hopes that even at this point, they can bring justice for Carol Morgan’s family. “That person is still out there. We might have suspicions, but that is perhaps for further investigation,” he said
