Emergency services responded to reports of two people being taken to hospital following contact with a woman carrying a bag in Stall Street, Bath in the UK. The incident occurred at around 2.30pm on July 11, when emergency services and police were contacted by the ambulance service after two people were experiencing breathing difficulties and itchy eyes. As a precaution, emergency teams wore protective clothing.
Police officers have set up a cordon as they continue to investigate and gather information on the woman in question. In a statement, police said that officers were working with the ambulance and fire services and hoped to be able to reopen the area as soon as possible.
One witness described the event as “frightening” seeing people in hazmat suits and various police and ambulance vehicles. Emergency services remain at the scene while they continue their investigation.
Incidents of this nature are rare, but the emergency services are well rehearsed in handling such events
