In a recent interview with The Guardian, Interpol shared which songs by The Killers they would like to perform. This comes after The Killers covered Interpol during a gig. Interpol frontman Paul Banks selected ‘Somebody Told Me’ due to his admiration for Brandon Flowers’ voice, describing it as a “pretty pop voice, but there’s grain in there, there’s soul.” In contrast, guitarist Daniel Kessler chose ‘Human’, praising its “emotion and the lyric.”
The Killers played a cover of ‘Obstacle 1’ from Interpol’s debut album at the 2016 Governors Ball in New York City. Flowers introduced the song, saying, “But there was another band who were darker and more mysterious. [Interpol’s] first album was on constant rotation while we were making ‘Hot Fuss’.”
