Grimes shares mother’s plea for Elon Musk to let their children see their great-grandmother

Sandy Garossino, the mother of Grimes, has reached out to Elon Musk, her daughter’s partner and the father of her three children, to appeal for a visit from the children to Garossino’s 93-year-old mother, who is in end-of-life palliative care. Garossino wrote on Twitter that her mother “yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time.” Garossino added that the trip to see her was cancelled. In her statement, she explains that she is “alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire.”

Grimes and Musk’s children are X Æ A-12, born in May 2020, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, born via surrogate in December 2021, and Techno Mechanicus, or Tau, born in late 2023. In the Twitter thread, Garossino also questioned the whereabouts of the other two children and asked Musk to “honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.”

This emotional situation follows a previous case where Grimes sued Musk because he wouldn’t let Grimes visit the child they had together, Techno Mechanicus, or Tau. Meanwhile, Musk recently caused another controversy talking about his daughter Vivian Wilson, during an interview with Jordan Peterson. He repeatedly deadnamed her and misgendered her, which sparked disapproval on social media. His transgender daughter claimed that these comments were baseless, indicating that this has only fuelled further disagreement between the two.

Wilson also accused Musk of being cruel towards her during her childhood, recalling a road trip when she was in fourth grade when Musk “was constantly yelling at me viciously because my voice was too high.” Grimes shared her support for her daughter on social media, saying: “I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian.”
