In the video, Beyoncé is seen dressed in a USA-branded white bodysuit, blue cowboy hat, and white cowboy boots in reference to her current country era with her new album ‘Cowboy Carter’. She introduces high-profile American athletes such as Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Caeleb Dressel, and Katie Ledecky, alongside a soundtrack of her recent single ‘YA YA’.
Beyoncé expressed her pride and joy for the team, highlighting the unique qualities of each athlete and why she believes in their talent and determination. She urges America to come together and support their team, believing in their capabilities to achieve great victories. Beyoncé added that the team was a beacon of America’s bold and beautiful citizens, big dreamers who fought hard to get where they are and deserve to be celebrated.
The 2024 Olympics commenced with the opening ceremony on July 26th, featuring Lady Gaga and Gojira performing ‘Mon truc en plumes’ and ‘Ah Ça Ira!’ respectively. Celine Dion also made her first appearance since being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022, performing Edith Piaf’s ‘L’Hymne A L’Amour’. Furthermore, when Harris walked out during her first campaign staff meeting in Wilmington, Delaware, she walked out to ‘Freedom.’ Although Beyoncé has yet to publicly comment on Harris running for President, her mother Tina Knowles stated on social media, “New, youthful, sharp energy…Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President. Let’s Go #kamala2024.”
