Hannah Laing spent years perfecting her craft as a DJ while working as a dental nurse. Her hard work paid off when her track “Good Love” reached number 7 in the UK Top 40, leading to mainstream recognition. Since then, the Dundee native has become an in-demand DJ across the globe, with her latest venture being her own record label, Doof.
The Doof label aims to promote hard dance music, a genre that Hannah has always loved. Her newest EP, “Into The Doof,” has just been released by Polydor and features collaborated tracks with DJs created during an intensive three-day music camp in Glasgow last year. The label is well-known across the UK, with some fans even sharing tattoos dedicated to the brand on social media.
As a self-proclaimed “normal person,” Hannah’s connection to her fans, especially younger audiences, remains a priority. She has been inundated with requests for under-18s gigs and even accepted an invitation to DJ in Dundee during the Euros at a fan zone with under-18s in the crowd. Her homecoming show at Dundee’s Caird Hall in February was captured on a BBC documentary, in which she did a meet and greet for her younger fans.
Despite her success, Hannah remains grounded and determined to give back to her fans. She is actively seeking new music from electronic artists at all levels, from a wide range of hard dance genres. Her journey has not been without challenges, but as a testament to her perseverance, she has continued to push forward for the things she wants
