Snoop Dogg has made an appearance in Paris ahead of the Olympic Games opening ceremony on July 26, carrying the Olympic torch alongside French actress Laetitia Casta and rapper MC Solaar. Dressed in an all-white tracksuit and gold trainers, he was the final torchbearer, strutting through the Parisian streets of Saint-Denis where the Stade de France Olympic stadium is located. The torch was then handed off where it will be carried to the Olympic cauldron during the opening ceremony.
The rapper is also serving as a special correspondent for US TV network NBC throughout the Olympic Games and previously debuted as a correspondent for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, which went viral when he reacted to seeing a horse “crip-walking” during the Equestrian event. Snoop’s countdown to the 2024 Olympics in Paris involved him running a mock trial at the United States’ team trials for the 2024 Summer Olympics. For the mock race, Snoop joined runners four-time Olympic medalist Ato Bolden and 200-meter specialist Wallace Spearmon for the fun of it.
Previously speaking about carrying the torch for the Olympic games, Snoop mentioned that he would have never dreamed of something like this and sees it as a prestigious honor and something he truly respects. He also commented on behaving at the event and plans to be on his best behavior, athleticism, and to breathe slow to walk fast while holding the torch with a smile on his face.
The rapper recently opened up about his relationship with Dr. Dre, sharing that the latter has always been a big brother to him. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg is planning to reunite with the horse he saw “crip-walking” during the Equestrian event, stating that he has to meet him in person as he is the returning champ
