The singer Halsey has released a new single entitled ‘Lucky’, which can be streamed below. The track samples both Britney Spears’ 2000 track of the same name and Monica’s 1998 hit ‘Angel Of Mine’. Halsey switches the original lyrics to a first-person narrative and the song was produced by Michael Uzowuru, Rahm Silverglade, and Dylan Wiggins.
Halsey recently teased the single on social media earlier this month, explaining that Britney Spears was like singing directly to her when she was five years old. Spears also recently gave her blessing to Halsey to sample the track. Halsey’s new album, which is currently untitled, will be a follow-up to her 2021 record ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’, with the singer promising that it will be “all over the place” and “full of experimentation”.
Their previous single ‘The End’ was released last month, and Halsey revealed that they feel lucky to be alive after experiencing health struggles and being diagnosed with Lupus and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Halsey has previously worked with Alex G in the studio on new music, with the new project scheduled to be released under their new label Columbia Records.
Lucky is a laid-back track that allows listeners to fully enjoy Halsey’s vocal range. The single will likely appeal to both new and old fans and is available to stream now
