Fans of Super Mario and LEGO are going wild over the announcement of a new set that combines the two. The 71438 Super Mario World Mario & Yoshi set is set to be released on October 1 of this year. The set features a diorama-style setup of Mario and Yoshi riding together. Movement is possible through the use of a hand crank on the piece. The set has 1,215 pieces and is priced at $209.99 SGD.
The Singapore LEGO shop that made the announcement posted photos of the set, including images of Mario and Yoshi in different positions. They even included a photo of Mario hitting Yoshi, causing his signature long-ranged attack, tongue-popping move. The 16-bit look of the set, evocative of older Super Mario video games, is also worth noting.
Super Mario and LEGO fans have been quick to share their excitement on social media. A number of them have expressed their enthusiasm about the attention to detail that’s clearly gone into the set.
