Hyperdub is set to make its initial entry into the jungle music genre with the release of Tim Reaper and Kloke’s album “In Full Effect”. The album, which is the first of its kind from the South London label, will be released on September 20th, and will have eight tracks mixing jungle, dub reggae, techno, and breakbeat elements from the 1993-1995 period, according to Hyperdub.
Hyperdub has stated that the album “will combine the period’s best ideas for a brand-new generation of ravers.” While working on the 2021 three-track Tunnelvision under Tempo Records and 2022’s Museum/Flow State under !K7, the new age junglists have previously worked together.
Tim Reaper has released a variety of new material via his own Future Retro label, and Kloke has just completed projects with Rhythm Records, UTTU, and Future Retro, amongst others. In a bustling year where the label oversaw several releases, including DJ Haram, Mica Levi, Burial, Kode9, and others, In Full Effect stands as the latest addition.
Pre-orders can be found here, where you can listen to this jungle-infused collection of titles. The tracklist begins with Continuities and moves on to include Blood Pressure, Juice, Alienation, Roots & Reality, Impasse, Havoc, and Wildstyle.
