A teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming horror sequel, Terrifier 3. The film features the return of Art the Clown, who is seen in the trailer going on a killing spree during Christmastime. While the extent of his kills is not revealed in the trailer, Art is shown chopping up his newest victims before the camera cuts away. At the end of the clip, Art lies in a pool of blood to make blood angels. The film, which carries a Christmas theme, is set to be released in theaters around Halloween season, on October 11.
Terrifier 3 is the third installment in the slasher series, following the original film Terrifier, which was released in 2018. Directed by Damien Leone and written on a budget of just $35,000, the film gained popularity on social media due to its high levels of gore and the success of its box office. This led to the making of Terrifier 2, which was reportedly causing people to pass out in cinemas and took more than $15million globally. The sequel was later submitted for Oscars consideration in a fan-driven campaign led by horror specialist publication, Bloody Disgusting, though it came away empty-handed.
Terrifier 3 is expected to take the gore to new levels, with Leone stating that the film will be “another boundary pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.” While the teaser trailer does not reveal much about the film, the anticipation among horror fans is high.
