Lupe Fiasco has dispelled rumours of any feud between him and Kendrick Lamar, stating that he has always been a fan of Lamar’s creativity and its impact on Black culture. During an X/Twitter Spaces event over the weekend, Fiasco, whose real name is Wasalu Jaco, was asked about his reported beef with Lamar. He went on to say that he could never disparage Lamar’s music, even when he doesn’t particularly like some of his songs.
Fiasco also expressed some envy towards Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), the record label which originally signed Lamar. He admitted to wishing that he had access to the same type of creative environment that TDE has been able to create for artists like Lamar.
Earlier this year, Fiasco made amends with fellow rapper Kid Cudi, with whom he had previously been feuding with publicly. The two artists went back and forth after Cudi told a throwback story about Fiasco visiting a BAPE store he worked at before becoming famous.
In other news, DJ Akademiks recently made the claim on his Rumble channel that Drake is writing his next response to Lamar. Akademic said that he has been in close contact with the Canadian rapper throughout his feud with Lamar
