DJ Alison Wonderland recently made an appearance as a nightclub DJ in the horror film MaXXXine, directed by her fiancé, filmmaker Ti West. The DJ hinted about her cameo via Twitter, congratulating West and the cast. MaXXXine stars Mia Goth as Maxine Minx, a film star who finds herself harassed by a real-life serial killer Richard Ramirez. The film is the last in a trilogy of horror films directed by West. The soundtrack for MaXXXine was written by Tyler Bates.
Alison Wonderland is known for her success in the trap, EDM and future bass genres. She has released multiple chart-topping albums and is the founder of her label FMU. The artist has been a vocal advocate for mental health problems and has discussed her own struggles publicly. In 2022, she launched her label FMU and played a number of shows in 2023 while pregnant, including a set at EDC Vegas while nine months pregnant.
Wonderland was also previously featured in the documentary Underplayed about the fight for equality between male and female DJs. The artist is a favourite of many and her achievements include being the first female Australian DJ to reach the Top 100 DJs list over ten times. She also made her US debut at Coachella and has numerous chart hits.
The horror film, MaXXXine, starring Mia Goth as Maxine Minx, is set in the 1980s and follows the murder of a serial killer. It is the third instalment in West’s ’80s horror trilogy, and a continuation of the sequel “X” and its prequel “Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story”. The film premiered in the UK on July 5
