The New York Times has released a new word game called Strands, which has quickly gained popularity to rival Wordle. The game is free-to-play and provides daily challenges where players have to find different words from a jumbled grid of letters. Besides horizontal and vertical chains of letters, players can link a letter with any of the nine other letters surrounding it, making the game all-encompassing.
Strands is available on the New York Times app, as well as on mobile and PC. Each day offers different themed words linked by a cryptic clue. All of the words are unique and don’t overlap each other as they fill the entire game board. Additionally, a Spangram is included that describes the puzzle’s theme with one or two words that touch at least two different sides of the board.
For every three non-themed words a player finds, they will receive hints to help them finish the board. The hints will reveal which letters make up one of the words, and using a second hint will reveal the order of the letters. Hints can be stacked, but words must be longer than three letters.
NME has provided the answers for today’s edition of Strands, along with some helpful hints to assist you in solving the Spangram. The theme for today is “You’re The Best,” while the Spangram begins with a ‘C’, ends with a ‘N,’ and is one word. Today’s Spangram is ‘Champion,’ beginning with the ‘C’ on the right-hand side of the board and ending with the ‘N’ on the far left.
The Strands game offers a new and exciting daily challenge, with unique themes and Spangrams that keep players engaged and entertained. Although it is currently in beta release, it has gained a significant following and will undoubtedly continue to be a favorite
