Welsh indie-pop group, Los Campesinos! have released a deluxe edition of their seventh studio album ‘All Hell’. The new version, dubbed ‘More Hell’, offers a stripped-back take on the original tracks with five reworked versions of new songs, a cover of ‘Wait’ by Secret Stars and the full album.
Guitarist Tom Bromley said in an Instagram post that “stripping the songs back to these skeletal versions allows all those elements and great musicians to come to the front.” He added that the original vocal performances and guitars no longer made sense when presented this way so they “quickly re-recorded these in a day in Cardiff”.
The deluxe edition is not available on streaming platforms and will only be on Bandcamp until 25 July, so fans will need to act fast if they want to add the new version to their collection.
Last year, the band said they wanted to commission writers to help foster their fanbase community. In a social media post, they stated they have an ever-growing fanbase that want to hear about their music and plan to pay writers “well and on time, to publish in-depth pieces to be enjoyed by fans, outside of the restrictive ‘album cycle’ PR pattern.”
Los Campesinos! celebrated a decade since they shared their fourth album, ‘Hello Sadness’, in 2011. The band performed live, and NME reviewed it as “deliver[ing] a rousing tribute to their back catalogue, and the future is looking bright.
