Green Day announced that they have a new music video for their song “Corvette Summer” that will feature Star Wars actor Mark Hamill and comedian Hannibal Buress. The “Corvette Summer” music video will be released next Tuesday, July 23. The song is taken from the band’s recent album “Saviors” and “channels AC/DC and Thin Lizzy rock’n’roll hedonism.” It is not yet known if the video will parody Hamill’s role in the 1978 film “Corvette Summer.” Green Day teased that “a whole lot more” guests could make an appearance in the video besides themselves.
Recently, Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong shared his admiration for Taylor Swift, who is currently performing on her record-breaking “Eras” tour. Green Day is currently on its massive “Saviors” world tour, where they will perform major stadium shows that will take them through the UK, Europe, and North America. The tour will continue until September 28.
NME reviewed one of the band’s recent shows in Manchester and gave it a glowing five stars, stating that “Staying invigorated after three decades is no mean feat, but Green Day makes it look effortless.” During 2024’s BRIT Awards, NME caught up with Green Day and discussed their relationship with Courtney Love and the possibility of more surprise London live shows.
