The final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has been released, featuring Lady Deadpool and a familiar character’s reintroduction. Due for global release on July 25, the movie was co-written by Ryan Reynolds, who’ll reprise his role as the regenerative antihero, and Hugh Jackman as the mutant X-Men figure. The film serves as part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and sees both characters integrated into it.
Deadpool & Wolverine takes place after the events of Deadpool 2, where Wade Wilson (Reynolds) attempts to lead a quiet life with his friends and family until the TVA involves him in a multiverse-meddling mission. He joins forces with Logan (Jackman)—initially a deadbeat and hostile—to face a common enemy.
In the new trailer, Wade tells Logan he has been “waiting a long time for this team-up,” before elaborating on Wolverine’s superhero reputation in his world. The snippets shown include previous Wolverine and X-Men movies, and Dafne Keen appearing to provide a pep talk, who starred alongside Jackman as a similar mutant named Laura in 2017’s Logan.
There has been much speculation about Lady Deadpool’s casting, with Taylor Swift as one of the most popular suggestions. Still, the film’s director, Shawn Levy, recently denied her involvement. One actor fans know won’t be in the movie is Josh Brolin, who recently expressed his disappointment at not being in the production.
Reynolds recently shared that he felt depressed after wrapping production on the movie and stated that it was the best he had ever made. The full look at Lady Deadpool was shown at the end of the trailer
