Steven Wilson has finally laid to rest the rumour that he called Coldplay “wankers” almost two decades ago. In a recent Instagram post, Wilson claimed that the sign had been passed to him by a member of the audience and that he was a fan of Coldplay at the time, and still enjoys their music today. The photo was taken at a US Porcupine Tree show in 2006 and has haunted Wilson ever since, with the public assuming it was an official confirmation of his feelings towards the band. Wilson recently announced a 2025 UK and EU tour, marking his first full band, solo shows since 2018. The European leg will begin at Cirkus in Stockholm on May 1st, before moving on to Oslo, Dusseldorf, and Brussels, among others. The UK leg will start on May 10th with a show at Beacon in Bristol, before heading to London, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Salford. The tour will also visit Amsterdam, Paris, Lyon, and Munich. Tickets are now on sale.
Wilson released his seventh solo album, ‘The Harmony Codex’, last year, and went on a reunion tour with his ’90s-formed band, Porcupine Tree, who had gone on hiatus in 2010. In a previous interview with NME, Wilson expressed his enjoyment of the reunion tour and stated that ‘The Harmony Codex’ was already his main focus going forward.
