WOMAD festival is teaming up with The Jam Jar by donating a portion of ticket sales sold to help support the venue.
The two independents have just launched a campaign whereby 15% of each ticket sold via The Jam Jar’s page will go towards the Support The Jam Jar Campaign. The tickets for this campaign can be found here
In recent years The Jam Jar has hosted many acts who also appear at WOMAD, amongst them some who are signed to Real World Records, the label founded by Peter Gabriel and original members of WOMAD. Both organisations are known for their diverse programming and independent spirits.
WOMAD is based in Wiltshire and welcomes over 40,000 guests every year. The festival has been running since the 80’s and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022 & remains an independent event to this day. Whilst the festival has moved around the UK in it’s 40 years, it has maintained strong roots in the South West throughout.
The Jam Jar in St Judes was founded 10 years ago, and has undergone an epic transformation from disused industrial unit into one of Bristol’s premiere grassroots music venues. In October 2022 the adjoining building was struck by a fire, resulting in a 3 week peak season closure. In April 2024, after an 18 month insurance battle The Jam Jar went public that it was facing financial destitution if something didn’t change soon. One month on they announced that the community had come together and raised thousands of pounds & witnessed a flurry of ticket and merchandise sales. The Jam Jar is continuing its campaign now with this latest partnership with WOMAD festival.
