Famous DJ and producer, Tomcraft, whose real name was Thomas Brückner, has passed away at the age of 49. In an Instagram statement, Brückner’s wife, Brine, and his three children, Max, Amelie, and Sophie confirmed the tragic news. They shared an image of Brückner in action alongside their message which read: “With a heavy heart we need to inform you that yesterday, [July 15] our beloved father and husband has passed away. We will forever carry you in our hearts and love you until we’re reunited again. Sincerely, your family. Bine, Max, Amelie, and Sophie.”

Brückner hailed from Munich, Germany, and made significant contributions to the trance and progressive trance genres during the 90s and early 00s. He released several hits, including ‘Prosac’, ‘Overdose’, and ‘The Mission’ which were all well-received. However, Brückner was best known for his track ‘Loneliness’ which he released in 2002. It topped the UK Singles charts in May 2003 and last year, it gained renewed popularity after it appeared in the Saltburn soundtrack.

Over the years, Brückner performed at several high-profile events, including the Love Parade in Berlin, where he played before 1.3 million music aficionados. He also travelled the world, performing in Brazil, Japan and South Africa. In 2005, he launched a music label named Craft Music that promotes underground music in the techno, electro and house scenes. The label signed artists Lutzenkirchen, Coburn, Oliver Koletzki, The Egg, and Ramon Tapia.

Following the news of Brückner’s sudden passing tributes have poured in from fans and peers alike. British DJ, Judge Jules paid homage to the late DJ and referred to him as a “lovely guy” and celebrated his ‘Loneliness’ hit, calling it one of the “greatest records ever”. German producer, Westbam, also expressed his grief at Brückner’s sudden passing, stating that the late musician “had fantastic new music coming and was very much looking forward to playing with all of us at Rave The Planet”.

Fans on social media have also shared their condolences, with many recalling the first time they heard Brückner’s hit song and how it had a huge impact on them
