American actress Natalie Portman has reflected on meeting Rihanna at Paris Fashion Week, saying it felt like a “formative moment in my life”. The two stars encountered each other at the start of this year at Dior’s Haute Couture show which had just debuted a new collection. Portman expressed her love for Rihanna’s music and volume of admiration at the encounter. The two took time to take photos together before Rihanna told her that she doesn’t “get excited about anybody” but was excited to meet her.

Portman expressed her gratitude towards Rihanna during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Referencing her recent split from her husband Benjamin Millepied, she said that “every woman going through divorce should get to have Rihanna say to her that she’s a bad bitch. It was exactly what I needed”. Portman and Rihanna both received nods during the latest award season including a nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special respectively.

Rihanna has been busy discussing details about her forthcoming album R9 and saying that it will see her “starting over”. She recently won her first Emmy Award alongside Jay-Z for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special and Outstanding Direction for a Variety Special for her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. Not only has she been busy on projects, but she has also had time for meetings with other high-profile individuals. Recently, she spent some time with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, in New York City.

The two women even exchanged clothes with Rihanna taking a Navy shirt, whilst Madonna took a Fenty Hoodie. Fans of the pop singers flooded social media with questions about the possibility of a collaboration between the two, however, neither have confirmed anything
