‘Not Like Us’, the Kendrick Lamar diss track aimed at Drake, has been transformed into an 8-bit video game. Players have the option of controlling Lamar’s avatar, swinging a bat against an owl piñata, which is famously associated with Drake’s label, OVO Sound. The game, developed by Richie Branson, who previously worked on Epic Games’ Fortnite, aims to top the leader board with a score of 69, also referencing Lamar’s lyrics. The game can be played on desktops and smart phones.
The song was recently released as a video and has since become the most streamed hip-hop tune in a day on Spotify. The song has also become Lamar’s fourth Billboard Hot 100 Number One single, following his feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’, igniting his feud with Drake this year. The rivalry was reignited at his recent ‘The Pop Out: Ken & Friends’ Juneteenth concert in Los Angeles, where Lamar performed the diss track five consecutive times, bringing out Dr. Dre as a special guest.
Last month, the CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., confirmed that ‘Not Like Us’ would be eligible for the Grammy Awards, although diss tracks were not commonly nominated. Lamar has won 17 Grammys in total. Drake, meanwhile, was recently ridiculed by Argentina’s national football team after losing a $300,000 bet against them.
