A tragic crossbow attack on their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, resulted in the death of Carol Hunt, 61, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, on July 9th. BBC racing commentator John Hunt urged people to “make the most of every day” according to fellow commentator Matt Chapman. More than £28,000 has been raised and hundreds of messages of support have been sent in a fundraiser to financially support Mr. Hunt’s surviving daughter, Amy.
Kyle Clifford, 26, of Enfield, North London was arrested on suspicion of three murder counts and is recovering from injuries in hospital. “Family means more to some than others and for John, his family unit was something he absolutely adored,” said Chapman. He felt helpless and along with many others wanted to do something to help ease the burden on the grieving family. The funds raised would help assure that Amy would never have to worry financially, which, according to Hunt’s friends, was his greatest desire.
Hunt has stated the message he would like everyone to take away from this tragedy is to “make the most of every day” because it could very well be the last time someone sees their loved ones. Chapman added that, when calling him, “you could feel that family life in the background.” Hunt and Amy have released a statement expressing their deep sadness and gratitude for the support they have received.
Hertfordshire Constabulary previously confirmed that they found a crossbow on the premises, and they are continuing with their investigation. As inquiries continue, tributes have been paid, and vigils held to honor the lost.

The overwhelming response of love and support that followed showed a community coming together to support one another. It is a sobering reminder that every moment is precious and should be spent with the ones we love
