Social media reacts to French Montana bringing out Andrew Tate during festival set in Romania

Andrew Tate, a controversial influencer and former Big Brother contestant, recently joined rapper French Montana on stage during his set at Beach, Please! Festival in Romania. Tate is currently awaiting trial for human trafficking charges. Montana used the opportunity to announce that the two had filmed a podcast episode together, which would be released soon. Following Tate’s appearance, social media erupted with criticism directed at Montana for associating with the disgraced businessman.

One Twitter user shared that “This isn’t a good look for French Montana. He’s already a controversial person and he’s still managing to make himself look even worse.” Another criticized the rapper, saying “French Montana bringing out Andrew Tate during a performance in Romania might be the worst thing he’s done since everything that unfolded with ‘Mac & Cheese 5’.” The reaction to the rapper’s decision was largely negative, with other tweets denouncing his actions and questioning his judgement.

Tate was arrested in December 2022 and accused of rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. He remains in custody along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects awaiting trial in Romania. French Montana has also faced controversy, having been sued for sexual assault and battery in 2020. The case was later dismissed, but in March 2023, the rapper was sued for negligence after a shooting incident during the filming of one of his music videos resulted in 10 injuries.

Despite the controversy which surrounds them, both Tate and Montana have maintained large social media followings with many of their fans remaining loyal. However, with Tate still awaiting trial for serious charges and Montana continuing to make headlines for controversial reasons, it is unclear if their career trajectories will continue to climb or if their past actions will catch up with them further
