UK band The Lathums have dropped their new single, titled “No Direction”. The high-energy track features frontman Alex Moore singing an anthemic chorus, “For there’s no direction but up”. Moore said that with experience he has learned that a clear mind and some common sense can help accept insecurities and avoid being consumed by them. Fear and pain have no place in moving forward. The song arrives after The Lathums’ 2023 album From Nothing To A Little Bit More, which earned them a second Number One LP in the UK album charts.
The Wigan four-piece will perform at Robin Park in Wigan with the opening support act by Jake Bugg and Brooke Combe. The Lathums will also perform at Liam Gallagher’s Malta Weekender in September and Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival in August.
In an interview with NME last year, Moore emphasized the importance of passion in music creation. He added that it is refreshing when people can see how much emotion and substance is behind the lyrics, in contrast to many mainstream songs which lack genuine feeling. The Lathums’ music is not about giving fans what they want, but about giving them what they need.
“No Direction” serves as the perfect addition to The Lathums’ growing repertoire of charged and inspiring tracks. With the band continuing to gather acclaim and recognition, fans can’t wait for what exciting music lies ahead
