The Hajodaze YangYang Festival, an event hosted by Seoul Community Radio, has announced its line-up for this year’s festival. The festival will take place across two dates this summer, July 20 and August 17. The event, now in its third year, will happen at South Korea’s East Coast beach resort Yangyang in the Gangwon province. This year’s line-up highlights UK bass talent and promises to combine “a strong local and international line-up reflecting the rising trend of bass, breaks and all-around rave flavours sweeping the Asia region.”
The festival will feature headliners Eliza Rose and Ryota for the August edition, while July’s event will be headlined by Flowdan, Yung Singh, Jensen Interceptor, and more. Local talent will also be showcased such as Hangzoo, Salamanda, 7ip7o3, Lil Lily, and Y2K92. The festival will also include performances from the Hajodaze Skate Team, the Hajodaze Vogue Crew, a DIY t-shirt workshop, and a continuous live stream from its two stages.
Line-ups this year will reflect the influence of UK bass on modern dance music in South Korea, including the amen break incorporation in K-pop releases and the influence of UK grime on Korean hip hop. The festival is completely free to enter, and Seoul Community Radio is an independent radio station that is dedicated to underground music.
For those interested, the full line-up for the July edition of Hajodaze can be found on the festival’s website, and updates on the August edition can be found on its Instagram. It’s worth noting that the festival will take place in compliance with local health regulations due to the ongoing pandemic
