Slipknot announce first-ever headline show in Mexico City, with support from BABYMETAL

Slipknot will be holding their inaugural headline gig in Mexico City in November. The show will take place on November 9 at Parque Bicentenario following the band’s show the previous day in Guadalajara. Swedish group Orbit Culture is also set to perform at the event with BABYMETAL supporting Slipknot. Tickets are available for purchase now.

Following their first-ever headline show in Mexico City, Slipknot will continue their anniversary tour. The tour will begin in North America with Knocked Loose and other special guests performing. Afterward, the band will perform at Knotfest Brazil, then tour across Peru, Columbia, and Bogota performing gigs throughout November.

The band will then move on to their European tour, spending most of November performing in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and France before closing out the year with two consecutive shows at The O2 in London, UK in December. Remaining tickets are still available for these shows.

The shows that Slipknot will be performing are partially a celebration of their self-titled album’s 25th anniversary, which was released in 1999. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan, a founding member and percussionist of Slipknot, has spoken out about his feelings towards the band’s new music that he describes as having “a really, really spiritual feeling.”

While there is no release date yet for their next album, Clown stated that there will be new music “sooner than you can imagine” and delivered in a way that fans cannot imagine. Slipknot’s most recent album, 2022’s ‘The End, So Far,’ was given a positive review by NME.

BABYMETAL, who will be supporting Slipknot at their Mexico City show, recently released a new single titled ‘Ratatata’ with Electric Callboy. The Japanese trio spoke to NME about their success and how it hasn’t changed who they are as a group. Their new single is their first track to make it onto the US charts
