The highly anticipated return of the C-Series mixtape has been confirmed by NME and Bose. ‘Bose x NME: C24’ will feature exclusive music from a star-studded line-up of emerging and rising talent. The mixtape will be released on July 19, following the success of ‘Bose x NME: C23’ which was launched in March 2023. The previous compilation showcased artists such as Genesis Owusu, King Princess and 070 Shake, marked by a high-octane celebration at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
‘Bose x NME: C24’ will include previously unheard tracks from artists including Artemas, Lola Young, Royel Otis, Samara Cyn, Teddy Swims, and Tehya. Tehya was chosen as the winner of C24’s new artist competition, a joint venture between Bose, NME and social music creation platform BandLab, in search of an emerging artist seeking their big break.
One of the first tracks to be released from the new mixtape is Teddy Swims’ ‘Funeral’, available to stream and download from July 12 on most major platforms including Apple Music, SoundCloud, Spotify, and Amazon. The track was written earlier this year, during Swims’ time at the Grammys. The single is also part of a bespoke new Bose x NME video series called ‘On Tape’, which features Swims talking about his personal journey to stardom. In the series, he also gets inked at a local London tattoo parlour ahead of his scintillating live performance of ‘Funeral’.
Alongside the digital album launch, there will be a limited run of 150 hand-numbered C24 vinyl records and a diluted run of C24 cassette tapes. In addition, NME print magazine will publish a print edition exploring the artists featured in the mixtape, the impact of music fandom and the changing legacy of the C-Series.
Fans can pre-save the mixtape on the following streaming platforms: Spotify, SoundCloud and Apple Music or visit NME.com/c24 to access more information on the magazine edition
