Reports suggesting that Sexyy Red’s North American tour may be cancelled due to poor ticket sales have been debunked by the rapper herself. Following the announcement of her “Sexyy Red 4 President” tour, rumours emerged suggesting that the tour had low ticket sales. However, according to Art of Dialogue and Touring Data, only 37% of the 85,217 tickets had been sold. The rapper also accused some parties of attempting to “sabotage” the tour, referring to them as “they”. Red partnered with AG Entertainment, a black-owned company, for the tour and implied that larger companies were attempting to hinder the tour’s success by spreading fake news to discourage her fans from purchasing tickets. The tour is set to cover 23 concert dates, including stops in Seattle, Miami, and Philadelphia.
Last month, Red dropped her third mixtape, “In Sexyy We Trust.” The project features collaborations with several major artists, including Lil Baby, Drake, Mike WiLL Made-It, and VonOff1700. The latter two also worked on her major label debut “Hood’s Hottest Princess.” One of the standout tracks from “In Sexyy We Trust” is “U My Everything,” which features a brief sampling of Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” beat.
Red recently caused a stir with her “Make America Sexyy Again” hat at the Roots Picnic festival. Many festival-goers accused the rapper of endorsing Donald Trump, but Red denied the allegations, stating that she was not endorsing any candidate. The rapper is currently on a worldwide festival tour and recently made an appearance on the wrestling TV show WWE:NXT
