Former Fleetwood Mac member Mick Fleetwood has expressed a desire to mend the relationship between his former band members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Buckingham and Nicks were part of the band since joining in 1974 and cemented their place in the lineup by recording the acclaimed album ‘Rumours.’ Both left the band at different times and later rejoined. Buckingham was fired from the band in 2018, which caused strain between him and band member Nicks.
Fleetwood, in a recent interview with Mojo, mentioned the emotional distance between Nicks and Buckingham. He said that he would love to see the two of them heal their relationship, regardless of whether it leads to a reunion tour. Fleetwood and Nicks talked about the future of Fleetwood Mac following the death of Christine McVie. In the interview with Mojo, Nicks stated that without McVie, it just wouldn’t work.
Earlier, Fleetwood had stated that he had moved on from Fleetwood Mac and would be happy if the band members continued making music as part of other projects. However, Buckingham said he would rejoin the band “in a heartbeat” should the opportunity arise. Nicks has been in the news recently for canceling some of her shows due to leg injuries, but she is set to headline in BST Hyde Park in London on July 12 with performances from Baby Queen and Nina Nesbitt.
Fleetwood Mac continues to be an integral part of music history, and fans would undoubtedly welcome a reunion. Fleetwood’s efforts to heal the relationship between Buckingham and Nicks are a promising sign, indicating that all is not lost yet.
