Stevie Nicks’ Barbie doll gets limited re-release

Barbie manufacturers Mattel have announced a limited re-release of the Stevie Nicks Barbie doll for fans of the Fleetwood Mac and solo artist. Originally released in October 2020, this edition of the Stve Nicks doll was dressed in a black dress with platform boots inspired by the Rumours album cover along with a model stand and a tambourine replica of Nicks’ signature golden moon necklace. The first release of the Stevie Nicks Barbie sold out instantly for $55, prompting requests for a re-release.

It was announced on July 8, 2021, that there would be a limited re-release for USD$55 from Mattel, but it also sold out quickly. It remains unclear whether there will be another production run for the Stevie Nick Barbie in the future. Meanwhile, Nicks, who co-created the doll with Mattel, explained to fans that when she saw the doll, she could see her 27-year-old self, and everything she had gone through since then.

Nicks revealed the doll during a concert at Madison Square Garden in 2020, where the singer gifted it to the audience member Sara, and sang a few lines from “Sara,” a Fleetwood Mac song of the same name. However, Nicks injured her leg in July 2021, and had to postpone her upcoming show in Manchester. Nonetheless, her BST Hyde Park show, scheduled for July 12, is still scheduled, but she will have to move the two preceding gigs as she will require a “minor surgical procedure.”
