Actress and model Julia Fox has recently come out as a lesbian in a video posted on TikTok. This follows a viral trend on the video-sharing platform where users come out about their sexuality. The original poster congratulated Fox in the comments on her coming out, stating “did I just facilitate Julia Fox coming out… ilysm queen.” The actress and model had her breakthrough role in the 2019 crime thriller Uncut Gems alongside Adam Sandler. In her memoir, Down The Drain, she claimed that the studio was not on board with casting her before the screen test due to her not being a “big name”. She explained how screenwriter Josh Safdie had been telling her for five years that she would be ideal for the role.
Fox landed the part following a successful screen test with Sandler, and Safdie explained in an interview with The New York Times how Fox’s character, Julia De Fiore, evolved in the writing process. Following Uncut Gems, Fox has had roles in the 2021 crime thriller No Sudden Move from director Steven Soderbergh, and has been announced to star in the upcoming dark comedy The Trainer alongside Vito Schnabel and Steven Van Zandt.
